Our Favorite OzoThings For Back To School

It’s that time of year again…time to go back to school! This season is always a stressful time for students and educators alike, but due to the COVID-19 pandemic, a new heap of pressure has been added.

Schools are doing their best to protect the health and safety of their students, which means that many are adopting a new approach to curriculum–distance learning. Whether your school is going fully virtual, in-person, or a hybrid of both, we know that teachers want to provide the best education for their students.

Many educators are not only concerned about screen-fatigue and lack of engagement, but also about ways to teach their students those vital core subjects, like math and ELA. The good news is, Ozobot can help! Our new 1:1 hybrid program drives a fast transition to remote learning, allows each student to have an Evo, and includes ready-to-run Learn Anywhere curriculum in all subject areas (not just coding/computer science).

Ready for more good news? We’ve rounded up our favorite OzoThings for this back-to-school season to get you inspired! Check them out below!

Tell Me A Story

Teaching ELA virtually sounds scary, but fear not. Mel Wood had her students create story maps during a Zoom class session to demonstrate their understanding of a story. Students placed their Evos on their story map and retold the story. Evo loves being the main character!

Perimeter= Length x Width

Adam Hill, an educator who went 1:1 with Ozobots this year, created an engaging lesson to reinforce perimeter. What better way to bring measurement to life than by adding Evo into the mix!

Creative Writing.. With Evo!

Digital Learning Coach Matt Tombs asked 5th graders to share their original pieces of writing using Evo as the storyteller. Integrating technology into ELA is easier than ever when you have Evo on your side!

Color Codes And… Multiplication?

Did you ever think that colored markers could assist students in learning multiplication? Well, Lisett Martinez did! She had her students solve a few problems, then create an Ozobot map with Color Codes to increase retention and engagement.

Be sure to tag us in your Ozobot creations, new and old, to be featured next month! Just tag us @Ozobot and/or #OzoSquad! We can’t wait to see what you come up with!
