August Lesson Spotlight
As classrooms gear up for a new school year, we've rounded up a set of fun, engaging lessons to help students ease back into learning routines while sharpening their coding, STEM, and problem-solving skills. This month's spotlight features both Evo and Ari lessons. From sequencing daily routines to racing robots and cracking mystery codes, these activities are perfect for building classroom momentum right from day one.
Evo
Students will explore the concept of sequencing by mapping out their daily routine. They'll draw, write, and program Ozobot to follow that sequence from start to finish.
Grades: K
Academic Standards: CCSS, CSTA, ISTE
Subjects: Computer Science, ELA, Social Studies
Students will build an interactive flower garden model to show how animals help pollinate plants. They'll then program Ozobot to visit each flower and collect data on the pollination process.
Grades: 2
Academic Standards: CSTA, ISTE, NGSS
Subjects: Science
Write Your Name with Color Code
Students will practice line-drawing and color-coding skills by turning the letters of their first name into a course. They'll use line jumps to guide Ozobot across the path they've created.
Grades: K-2
Academic Standards: CSTA, ISTE
Subjects: Art, Computer Science, ELA
Students will decipher a set of mystery codes to figure out which ones are the fastest. They'll use their findings to design a raceway and compete to win the Great OzoRace.
Grades: K-5
Academic Standards: CSTA, ISTE
Subjects: Computer Science, Art
Ari
Meet Ari: Hardware, Software, and Apps (5-12)
Students will meet their new robot buddy, Ari, and get an introduction to its hardware, software, and apps. Along the way, they'll level up their coding skills and discover everything this bot can do.
Grades: 5-12
Academic Standards: CSTA, ISTE
Subjects: Computer Science, Engineering/Tech

Meet Ari: Ozobot Editor (5-12)
Students will get to know the Ozobot Editor by writing pseudocode and exploring block-based programming with Ari. They'll put their new skills to work by building and running a custom program that makes Ari perform a fun sequence.
Grades: 5-12
Academic Standards: CSTA, ISTE
Subjects: Computer Science, ELA, Engineering/Tech

Students will use Timer and Speed Color Codes to program Ari to zip around an analog clock, landing on numbers for the hour and minute. They'll then analyze the images on Ari's screen to determine whether the time is AM or PM.
Grades: 3
Academic Standards: CCSS, CSTA, ISTE
Subjects: Computer Science, Engineering/Tech, Math

Students will turn Ari into a bowling champion by using Direction Color Codes to send it down the lane. They'll aim to knock over all six pins and see if they can score a strike.
Grades: 3-4
Academic Standards: CSTA, ISTE
Subjects: Computer Science, Engineering/Tech
