October Lesson Spotlight
This October, bring the season into your STEAM lessons with activities for every grade from K-5! Young coders can guide Evo through Halloween patterns and spooky graveyard paths, while older students program Ari to model constellations, comets, and moon phases. Whether you're celebrating Halloween or exploring the night sky, these lessons make it easy to spark curiosity and creativity all month long.
Evo

Ozobot Trick or Treat
Get ready to help Ozobot go trick-or-treating! Students will use Color Codes to plan a path through the neighborhood, collect data on the houses Ozobot visits, and solve math problems to find out how much candy Evo gets!
Grades: 2
Academic Standards: CCSS, CSTA, ISTE
Subjects: Computer Science, Math, Social Studies

Spooky Patterns
Get ready for a spooky adventure! Students will create and label their own Halloween patterns, then follow a Color Code key to build a creepy trail for Ozobot to explore.
Grades: K-2
Academic Standards: CSTA, ISTE
Subjects: Math
Graveyard Party
Ozobot has been invited to the big Halloween party, but the only way there is through a spooky graveyard! Students will use Ozobot Blockly to code a safe path and help Ozobot arrive in time for the fun.
Grades: K-2
Academic Standards: CCSS, CSTA, ISTE
Subjects: Computer Science, Engineering/Tech, Math
Ari
Zodiac Constellations
Students will become astronomers as Ari simulates Earth's orbit around the sun, revealing which constellations shine in different months. Along the way, they'll sketch star patterns, design their own constellation track, and explore how Ari's parts work together to bring the night sky to life.
Grades: 5
Academic Standards: CSTA, ISTE, NGSS
Subjects: Computer Science, Engineering/Tech, Science

Halley’s Comet
Students will explore the incredible 76-year journey of Halley's Comet and discover how the sun's gravity shapes its path through space. Then they'll use color codes and Ari's screen to program a model of the comet as it changes along its orbit.
Grades: 4-5
Academic Standards: Computer Science, Science
Subjects: CSTA, NGSS
Moon Phases with Ari Level 2
Students will explore the eight phases of the moon, from new moon to full moon and back again. Then they'll program Ari to recognize colors that represent each phase as it travels through the lunar cycle.
Grades: 4-5
Academic Standards: NGSS
