September OzoThings

September OzoThings

September was packed with creativity as classrooms everywhere put Ozobots to work, from geometry and geography to storytelling and cultural celebrations. Here are some of our favorite activities from the month!

Exploring Shapes with Evo
Back-to-school season brought these first graders together for a hands-on geometry adventure with Ozobot! Students guided Evo as it traveled along the edges of different shapes. With every turn Evo made, students counted sides and spotted angles, discovering what makes a triangle, square, or rectangle unique.

Tech Time
Library time got a tech twist for this first-grade class! Students reviewed how to care for their Chromebooks, then practiced identifying numbers through hands-on coding with Ozobot Evo.

Perfect Squares
Students in this sixth-grade class explored perfect squares, then used their coding skills to program paths for their Ozobot Evo robots. It’s a great example of taking math lessons to the next level through hands-on learning.

International Dot Day
Farine Elementary students celebrated Dot Day by creating dots, wearing dots, and guessing how many dots filled a jar. Students used Ozobots to connect the dots of 2D shapes they designed.

Coding Geniuses
Kindergartners in Mrs. Laha’s class brought reading, writing, and robotics together by coding Ozobot Evos to retell the story of Humpty Dumpty in sequence. Literacy and coding skills, built side by side!

Hispanic Heritage Month
Farine Elementary students celebrated Hispanic Heritage Month by retelling the story I Am La Chiva, mapping out the story sequence and coding Ozobot Evos to follow the bus’s path. A creative way to connect cultural stories, reading comprehension, and coding!

National Coding Week
Fifth graders wrapped up National Coding Week by using OzoBlockly to guide Evos through creative mazes and obstacle courses they designed themselves. The perfect test of problem-solving and coding skills!

Evo the Explorer
Second graders sent their Ozobot Evos on a tour of North America, using Speed Color Codes to guide the robots across the continent’s countries and bordering oceans. Geography and coding, all in one lesson!

Thank you to all our educators who shared their students’ creations. We love seeing your ideas and creativity come to life. Keep the STEAM activities and ideas coming, and don’t forget to tag @Ozobot or use #Ozobot in your posts for a chance to be featured in our next roundup of favorite #OzoThings.
