Guided Instructions
Swipe left to begin exploring Ari’s lesson folders, and select Computer Science.
Select the Blockly App.
Ari has 3 ways to connect to the Editor.
Method 1 uses BLE only. This is usually the easiest method for most users but may run some programs slower.
For Method 2, Ari must already be connected to WiFi. The Ari is matched to Editor using BLE and will run programs and updates over WiFi. This method will run programs the fastest.
For Method 3, Ari must already be connected to WiFi. The Ari is matched to Editor using an 8 digit key on Ari’s screen. This method must be used when using Ari with Editor on an iPad, and it can be used for remote learning when the student and Ari are in different locations.
Method 1: Connect to Ari using BLE
To connect Ari to Editor using BLE, press “+Ari” in the Devices tab on the right side.
Make sure “Connect over BLE only” is selected in the drop-down menu. Press “Connect Ari”.
Choose your Ari in the BLE pop-up menu. You can find Ari’s BLE name on the left side of its screen. Make sure to use Chrome browser.
When Ari is connected to the Editor, you will see “Ready” next to the Ari in the Device Manager. You will also see “Connected to Editor” on Ari’s screen. You can now create and run programs on Ari with the Editor!
Method 2: Connect Ari using WiFi
To connect Ari to Editor using BLE, press “+Ari” in the Devices tab on the right side.
Make sure “Connect over WiFi” is selected in the drop-down menu. Press “Connect Ari”.
Choose your Ari in the BLE pop-up menu. You can find Ari’s BLE name on the left side of its screen. Make sure to use Chrome browser.
When Ari is connected to the Editor, you will see “Ready” next to the Ari in the Device Manager. You will also see “Connected to Editor” on Ari’s screen. You can now create and run programs on Ari with the Editor!
Method 3: Connect Ari using WiFi for iPads
To connect Ari to Editor on an Ipad, Ari must already have WiFi set up using a computer. To do this follow instructions in this link.
After Ari has been connected to WiFi with a computer you can connect Ari to Editor on an iPad. Press “+Ari” in the Devices tab on the right side.
Make sure “Connect over WiFi” is selected in the drop-down menu. Press “Connect Ari”.
In the center pop-up menu press the link to Switch to manual mode.
In the center pop-up type the 8 digit key shown on the right side of Ari’s screen that is highlighted in blue. Press “Connect”. You will only see this 8 digit key when Ari has already been connected to WiFi.
When Ari is connected to the Editor, you will see “Ready” next to the Ari in the Device Manager. You will also see “Connected to Editor” on Ari’s screen. You can now create and run programs on Ari with the Editor!
