There’s no doubt your kids are feeling cooped up after 2+ months of Shelter-in-Place guidelines. The good news is you can send them to explore space with Ozobot! With Evo and 2 Ways to Code (screen-free Color Codes and block-based coding in OzoBlockly), there are infinite activities to keep your child engaged all summer while building future-ready skills. For May, though, we want to lean into one of our favorite holidays—May the Fourth—and highlight some of our favorite space-themed activities your kids (or students) can do from home.
New! Ozobot Joins May the Fourth
Grades K-4 | Color Codes | Evo or Bit
After Ozobot Certified Educator Cindy Gonzalez posted Star Wars costumes her students created for May the Fourth, the demand was high for her to share the corresponding activity. She obliged, and submitted the multi-day project to our Lesson Library. Kids will choose a Star Wars land to recreate, dress their Ozobot up as a Star Wars character, and recreate scenes from the movies.
A long time ago (before school closures), in a galaxy far, far away (Florida) this activity was intended for a group. Your child can complete the steps independently to create their very own world and costumes. We’re excited to share it with you!

New! Stargazing with Ozobot: Recreate a Constellation (Color Codes)
Grades K-7 | Color Codes | Evo or Bit
If you have a child bummed about missing out on Summer Camp this year (or being outdoors in general), take them stargazing! In this activity, kids research constellations and choose one to recreate using Color Codes. They’ll draw a path for Evo to visit each star in their chosen constellation.

Take this activity a step further, or challenge older learners, with the OzoBlockly version of Stargazing below!
New! Stargazing with Ozobot: Recreate a Constellation (OzoBlockly)
Grades 7-12 | OzoBlockly | Evo or Bit
Similar to the above activity, your child will research a constellation to recreate and plot the pattern on paper. This time, though, they will use OzoBlockly to program Ozobot to travel along the constellation.

Eclipses and Celestial Mechanics
Grades 2-12 | Color Codes or OzoBlockly | Evo or Bit
Teachers have told us how much their students LOVE this science experiment! Ozobots provide a visual for students to understand how eclipses and lunar phases occur using either Color Codes or OzoBlockly. The activity was written for two Ozobots, but if you only have one at home you can find another small sphere to replace the Ozobot representing earth.
Laura Bain, a Digital Learning & Innovation lead, took this a step further by having her students create a video labeling the various elements and phases of the eclipse. You can watch the video above!

Mission to Mars
Grades K-7 | Color Codes | Evo or Bit
This is a great one for the whole family! With this printable board game, you can practice drawing Color Codes as you race to reach Mars. With a mixture of luck and skill at play, the goal is to create shapes without “bugs” for Ozobot to travel along.
